A sweet pair of Japanese Ittobori Sparrows hand carved wood folk art toys.
Each bird measures 2.5" tall. This is a folk toy called a Sasano-bori carving from Yonezawa city of Yamagata Prefecture of Japan.
This is a loving pair of Japanese sparrows each carved from a single block of wood and mounted on a wood base then hand painted to complete the piece. The long shavings were cut up toward the body of each bird and left in a natural curl.
