This period vintage necklace was designed and executed in the late 70's by Robert Lee Morris when he had his Art Wear gallery in NYC/ Soho. It is a fine example of his organic and sensual sculptural forms. It is a necklace today that remains timeless and modernist as he bridged the worlds of fashion and art as one. It is wearable jewelry that evokes a sensuality. The links that are re-interpreted teardrop forms with a modernist approach in jewelry design are modernity brought to a high level. Robert Lee Morris during his high time of his career won many awards : one a Coty and worked for the top fashion designers of the 20th Century He designed for Donna Karan which encompassed at least 39 collections. It has great weight to it and a stellar presence. Never outdated and au courant! This was done in 1977. This is a fabulous necklace that will be forever timeless and sculptural. Each link is 1" D and 2" L.The height of the necklace is 11.5" H or long.This now eers now on the rare side. it is a very collectable piece.
