Signed Antoni (for the Danish artist Ib Antoni 1929-1973), this poster was designed to advertise the Danish Pavillion at the 1964 New York World's Fair.
Ib Antoni (1929-1973) was a well-known cartoonist, designer, and poster artist not only in Denmark but also abroad, where he illustrated the renown Times and Life Magazine in the USA. He created approximately 300 posters in the twenty years of his career. He was commissioned by a wide range of clients such as FDB, Politiken, Carlsberg, Dyrup, Volvo, Danish Agriculture, Foreign Affairs, UNICEF, and others. His posters for the Fair reflect his playful, "Naive" style, for which he is known and appreciated. (Source: Permild & Rosengreen website) His work can be found in collections worldwide, such as that of the Danish Museum.
The Danish Pavillion at the World's Fair was housed in "a handsome building of natural wood and glass" with "exhibits, a shopping promenade and a choice of places to eat. It included "TIVOLI FOR TOTS. A park modeled after one in Copenhagen's Tivoli Gardens, where children could whisk down a dipsy-doodle slide, explore a maze and climb in a Forbidden House."
Unlined and in very good condition with minor signs of wear (light ruffling on the right and left margins, a small tear on left margins), this poster is perfect for a children's playroom, the family room, or entrance... anywhere some Danish design (with a historical twist!) is needed.

- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
