Materials: … Read more Set of 2 natural walnut "Block" armchair, Jonas Lutz Dimensions: 74.2 W x 68.7 D x 74.2 H cm. Materials: Natural walnut veneer, brass plated legs, sheepskin. Different finishes are available. Block is a lounge armchair inspired by the Brutalist architectural movement. Two massive blocks of walnut which are the structure and the armrests, give the armchair its singular silhouette. This geometric identity is balanced by the lightness and comfort of the seat upholstered in wool or a luxurious sheepskin. Finnish-born designer Jonas Lutz creates objects of bold simplicity which are inviting to the touch. The foundation of his form language lies in a deep understanding of the inherent qualities of materials and process. Elegant solutions are visible in the way that parts intersect to form a unity, projecting both subtlety and strength. Jonas finds inspiration in Nordic furniture traditions as well as in the lively design culture of his adopted country of the Netherlands. Jonas Lutz studio is located in Rotterdam the Netherlands and he has studied at the Carl Malmsten furniture school in Stockholm, Sweden and has a bachelor in design from the Design Academy in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
