"The New Adam" Original by Sam Gulliver
In The New Adam, Sam evokes Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam. Shot from the Creature’s perspective, he looks down at his hands, yearning for connection. Interestingly, the Creature’s hands appear human, perhaps he has not yet learned to hate his appearance. It is ironic that by placing the viewer into such close proximity to the Creature, we begin to fully grasp his loneliness and isolation. Hands are notoriously challenging for AI to depict, adding irony to its identity as a creator.
