"The Unraveling" Original by Michelle Gagliano
The Unraveling is given a scroll-like continuity to illustrate the circularity of the novel, ending as it began with the Arctic seas, a symbol of the immutable power of nature. The vague shapes and silhouettes reflect the ambiguity of the ending of the novel and the Creature’s death. Michelle’s work, like the Creature, descends into “darkness and distance.”
