Antique ealty 20th century scottish very rare pair of novelty solid silver & brass table salt & pepper shakers, realistically modelled as two shotgun cartridge shells. Both feature screw lids to the base. Included is the original display box with the original inner lining "by appointment hamilton & inches edinburgh". Both hallmarked scottish silver (925 standard), edinburgh, year 1914 & 1915 (i & k), maker h&i (hamilton & inches, edinburgh).
hamilton & inches opened its doors at 90 princes street in may 1866. Founded by robert kirk inches and his uncle james hamilton, the company offered a range of luxury jewellery and silverware.
