The substantial clear glass body is animated by free-flowing bands of red, orange, yellow, green and blue that twist through the vase in an energetic abstract composition. Because the decoration is incorporated into the glass, the pattern shifts dramatically as the vase is viewed from different angles.

Its asymmetric teardrop silhouette and vivid multicolor decoration reflect the Murano-inspired art glass aesthetic popular in late-20th- and early-21st-century decorative design.

Comparable examples of this distinctive multicolor teardrop form have been identified in the secondary market as Crate & Barrel. While the design is strongly reminiscent of Italian art glass, the individual glassworks responsible for its production has not been documented, and this example is not represented as Murano glass.

A substantial and wonderfully colorful decorative object that works beautifully displayed on its own.
