The Vintage Kutani Hand-Painted Bowl from Japan with Seal script generic Kaku (square) style version of "Kutani" in the 1960s. Vintage ceramics from this period are highly collectible. The word Kutani means Nine Valleys and is the name of an area and a village. The two characters that make up the word Kutani consist of the characters for "nine", ku and "valley".
