This antique … Read more An Italian carved-wood pediment fragment, with its original finish, from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique wall ornament from Italy, with its horizontal span of over 6.75 feet in length, has been hand-carved in a swirling c-scroll, shell, and leaf motif. There is an open/pierced cut-out prominent at center, with smaller areas of pierced carvings along either side. This fragment retains its original finish and has great patina, with wonderful age and history. Note that there have been some prior repairs to this piece. This turn of the century Italian pediment fragment will add a nice architectural element to any wall, and we can see it looking particularly lovely hanging over an entryway, a window, or perhaps atop a headboard in a bedroom.
