The background of the portrait is all black, and the subject is seated off-center, looking into the distance. The artwork is framed in a reeded wood and gold painted frame with a black velvet liner. Signed and dated by the artist in the lower left corner, Doris Hampton Stewart, 7/12/76.

This is one of three paintings we purchased from the Stewart estate in Merlin, Oregon, inspired by the places and people Doris met during her international travels.
