19th Century Tibetan Buddhist Copper Vessel with Dragons and Ring Handles
This antique Tibetan masterpiece handed down over the years that has been successfully screaming the Buddhist culture. It looks grand, mystic and holds some kind of religious significance. This vessel is hand made of pure copper in a cylindrical shape with metal embellishments of strips embedded around the vessel, single dragons, twin dragons opposite each other and a Kirtimukha faces with rings. In Sanskrit, the word mukha means the “face” and kīrti means “glory “. Thus Kirtimukha means the face of glory. Kirtimukha is depicted as clutching the wheel of samsara-depicting the impermanence of the life. Wonderful condition with age-related patina and wear to finish.
