Graceful hand painted portrait of an elegant Italian woman wearing a satin dress draped with a red shawl. She also wears a hair comb lined with pearls. She stands in front of a window with a half drawn curtain, showing a group of tall Poplar trees against a blue sky.

The fine detail of this miniature portrait is absolutely beautiful - one of the finest in our collection.

The portrait appears to be painted on some sort of natural material, and on the back is the name Pietro Grenardi (see pics). This name is written on a separate piece of paper and is period to the piece. It's also dated 1814.

The miniature measures 2" x 2.75", the gilded copper frame measures 2.5" x 3".

At 200+ years old, this miniature still looks amazing. Loosely fit in the frame.
