A beautifully detailed original watercolor, gouache and ink painting by Walter William Ison, British 1908-1997 and Leonora Florence Mary Payne Ison, British 1904-1996, "A Botanical Study Presentation, August 5th, 1972" from Walter and Leonora Ison to Bill & Joan, 7 1/2" x 5 1/4" oval, detailed scene of summer blossoms, trailing greenery and butterflies with an inscription at the bottom. CA number 3923, CA purchased summer 2023 from a south of England prominent auction house.
The work has been cleaned and reframed with 4 ply and 8 ply White Museum matboard, one gold line, Museum Glass, museum backing and Munn 5/8" 22kt. gold slightly antiqued cap moulding.
Walter was a prominent architectural historian and Leonora was an artist illustrator and architect. They were both widely respected in their fields. They were married in 1931.
