Large pendant light from the Italian manufacturer Kartell after a draft of Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni from 1959.
The lamp is formally made up of two parts, the masking element made of metal and the umbrella elements made of translucent plastic (methacrylate). This material combination is particularly special here. The classic material of the nickel -plated steel and the then state -of -the -art methacrylate. A contrast in color and materiality. The metal as an actually load -bearing element only looks out of the lamp at the top. The umbrella parts are loose. The lamp is surrounded by two white diffuser hoods, which are located like a shining ball within the large shade. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
