Finely detailed vintage Van Cleef & Arpels South Sea Pearl & diamond ring crafted in platinum (circa 1980s to 1990s).

South Sea Pearl measures 11mm. 16 diamonds total an estimated 1.20 carats (estimated at E-F colour and VVS2 clarity). The pearl is lustrous with a light gunmetal grey colour & soft peacock rose overtones.

The mounting is made by Van Cleef & Arpels, signed and numbered with a special designation of "mtg only" for mounting only. Van Cleef customers have been known to use their own gemstones in a Van Cleef setting (as is the case with this ring). It is likely the pearl was a family heirloom or possibly a gift that was set in the mounting. The diamonds are from and set by Van Cleef & Arpels. The ring is also stamped "S.O" for special order, a select service offered by Van Cleef & Arpels to their clientele. The ring is a wonderful example of Van Cleef & Arpels quality and impeccable style. Great for day or evening wear.

The ring is in very good condition. We have not cleaned it in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
