Gori is well known for his work of art deco ladies and his heroic male nudes active in the very physical excursions. The boxer with bound fists and standing in a classic posture of the boxer's craft. The young man is solidly muscled and with a determined expression. The figure is modeled in a quick expressionist hand. The size is 18" tall and 12" by 6.5" overall base. Dark bronze and verdigris patina. The underside shows this work to be a unique studio edition of one, the clay modeling material is still found in the opening on the underside. The left forward leg still contains the metal armature rods, see details in photos of the bottom. Very Good condition. See less
