Mandarin … Read more Vintage 4-panel Chinese Byobu (folding) screen depicting Mandarin Ducks in a pond, iris flowers, pine tree and blossoming sakura. Mandarin Ducks are symbol of fidelity and happy love and marriage in Chinese and Japanese cultures. Paper matting, lacquered wood frame with original hardaware. Two Asian style brass hangers attached to the wood frame. Fabric and paper on back. Water damage on the back on one panel, but the entire painting has no damage at all. Minor age wear overall. Nearly excellent condition. Signed by the artist. China, circa 1940-1960s. See less
