Jean Tsamis (Greek / American, b. 1920)
Description: Landscape painted in impressionist style. The piece is painted in a high key palette in predominately warm shades of yellow, orange and ochre with smaller touches of green and blue. One larger tree is in left foreground with several smaller trees and Shrabs in the middle ground. Distant hills fade back to the horizon. The sky is yellow with light
green clouds near the horizon. Signed in the lower right side corner. It has been mounted in a gold tone wooden frame with a hanging wire attached to the reverse side.
This painting was purchased in 1995v for $1500. See pic.
