Bits of abalone shell are inlay-ed in a silver setting. Each of the 4 skewers has 2 small tines at end of the stem to attach a cocktail olive, or appetizer, or hors d'oeuvre
This lovely set is a family heirloom from my grandmother who passed in the 1950's.
