This is a rare complete set of eight antique ALKEN, Henry. The Quorn Hunt. London: 8 hand-coloured aquatint plates, hunting prints titled 'The Quorn Hunt' Drawn & Etched by H Alken, and engraving by F C Lewis circa 1835. The Quorn Hunt, usually called the Quorn, established in 1696 in Leicestershire by Thoomas Boothby, is one of the world's oldest fox-hunting packs and claims to be the United Kingdom's most famous hunt.
There are extracts from a narrative by Charles Apperley engraved below and the main figures all carefully keyed. Among them are George Osbaldeston, master of the Quorn hounds, Dick Christian, a celebrated rough rider at Melton Mowbray', and an outsider called 'Snob'. Other charackters depicture Lord Alvanley, Sir Harry Goodricke, Lord Bradenell, Lord Kinnaird, Lord Forester, Sir James Musgrave, Sir F Burdett, Capt Berkeley and Hon Col Lowther.

Condition:
Very Good condition (Light spotting and fading, a few minor creases on the prints. The frames show signs of age slight scuffs on the finish do not distract from the overall beauty of these framed prints)
All prints in wood frames with glass painted brown with black outlines
