This is a rare Original Oil on board abstract painting attributed to celebrated French-Canadian artist Henriette Fauteux-Masse. The piece is undated but it appears to be an earlier work and was likely painted in the 1950s. It is signed in the bottom right corner. The painting is on vintage F.W. Devoe & Co. art board which predates the work. It is possible that the artist painted over another painting which she was known to do or just had an old art board to hand. We think it adds a little more interest to the piece. The painting is presented in a basic black/white frame.

The work is in good condition with a couple of very small paint chips. There is a slight convex curve to the art board, but it does display well in the basic frame.

The artist's work is very desirable and this appears to be a good example of her early work as she developed her signature abstract expressionist style in the 1950s-60s.

The work measures 24" x 18". Framed it measures about 27" x 21". See less
