Another recent acquisition from an upscale Cincinnati estate; fine Turkish rug with outstanding design and color. Vivid dyes with rich high quality wool. The rug is all wool including warp and weft. Nice thick weave, floppy handle with original braided endings. Brown weft. Pleasing, scattered abrash. There are a few reweaves, but professionally executed. Ends good. Selvage is good and highly decorative with the use of variable dyes. The rug overall has a decent pile, but there are lower spots in the rug, which for the most part are relegated to the red dye surrounding an individual medallion. (showing a closeup of the worst one). In general a good pile with some lower areas that are confined to spots! This is a very, very nice rug and well worth the price. A rug that should last another 100 years with this foundation!
