The … Read more Five-piece oil on canvas art installation entitled "Recumbent Ladder II" created in 2003 by Ohioan abstract artist Ruth Bercaw

The installation is comprised of five pentahedron-shaped canvases which are equal in size and measure 19" in length, 7 1/2" in width (for the two painted sides), and 5" in width (for the back side)

On the back of each piece are stitched-on fabric placards with hand-written and illustrated mounting instructions from the artist

Both the canvas and fabric placards have the artist's signature as well as the piece's date of fabrication (203)

This piece was purchased at a high-end auction house in Alexandria, VA and is being sold at cost; it was never mounted and has been carefully wrapped and stored since being purchased

A few small signs of wear were present at acquisition and include a 1/16" chip to the front of piece #3, a 1/8" chip to the bottom right of piece #2, and a 1/8" chip to the top of piece #2 (see photos); this would be a minor repair by a specialist if perfection is desired
