The body of the pot is decorated with a finely drawn garden scene with trees, palms and shrubs. Five scholars are playing go in one scene, close by, to the right, three scholars are standing in front of a table with a guzheng atop, while a page next to a grove of plantains and banana leaves holds a different guzheng for them. Continuing to the right is a group of six scholars, sitting in a circle, one playing a guzheng on his lap, while the others keep time and sing. Circa early Republic of China period, no later than mid century. See less
