This lovely butter dish is made out of porcelain. This dish is stamped as being made by Belleek in Ireland, see pictures, and the stamp dates this piece to 1965-1980. This dish is made in the "Tridacna" pattern used by Belleek; it features an interesting ribbed design to the interior and a gorgeous overall white color, it has a wider edge to the rim on one side for holding/carrying.
The measurements are: height=1" width=5 3/4" depth=5 1/4" approx.
