Vintage Stangl Magnolia Large Round Serving Platter or Chop Plate
The Stangl Magnolia pattern was designed by Kay Hackett and was introduced in 1952. It remained in production until 1978. This pattern was the first to utilize a new green engobe also developed by Kay Hackett that was different than the usual white Stangl backgrounds. The pattern is one of many floral-themed designs and features incised lines and raised detail. Like most Stangl, it is hand painted with no two pieces exactly alike. This platter is the largest size plate produced in this pattern.
Measures ~ 14 1/2 in diameter. Heavy for the size.
In excellent vintage condition. Without chips, deep scratches, or cracks. The graphics are intact and bright. The glaze is shiny. There are a few very tiny glaze bubble pops that occurred during the firing process. Please see the pictures.
