This antique cabinet from … Read more A French carved and painted wood buffet console, with original marble top, from the 19th century. This antique cabinet from France features the original marble top, rectangular in shape with rounded front corners, atop the wooden case which houses a pair of half-sized drawers set across the top, over a pair of nicely carved recess-panel doors, set within rounded front side posts (each carved with an elongated recessed panel). Both of the beautifully carved panel doors have curved top edges, each making up one half of a gently sloped arch, adding subtle fluidity to this piece. There are is a rectangular-shaped recessed panel at each chest side. The cabinet is raised on rounded feet at front (an extension of the front side posts) and squared feet at rear. The original merlot colored marble is complimented by a custom blue/gray finish with hints of cream and a taupe accent trim. Please note that there is piece of marble missing along the backside of the top (this can be seen in the additional images). This 19th century French console cabinet, just shy of 5.5 feet in width, making for a great versatile size for endless placement and use options within your home. See less
