It is secessionist meets serpent Egyptian style. We have tried to do the research on this for what the markings stand for and it is difficult to do. The art nouveau meets secessionist style meets aesthetic movement make these period pieces ring with intrigue.There are many marking on the bottom in raised form and other. We cannot verify these marks though. We have tried to do the research. The applied design with gold braided fired paint is incredibly well done and executed. It is in excellent condition. It now becomes modern and can be separated in a home. It makes a great centerpiece bowl. Sold a set only! Most unusual. See less
