This lovely, handsome and well-made vintage heavy bronze box from Silver Crest is hallmarked on the bottom genuine silver crest bronze SMA 518-36, 59. It borders Art Deco and 1940s. The interior is the original wood color; we have not altered that. It was probably a cigarette box at the time. This makes a great desk accessory or for a cocktail table.
It is professionally polished. The corners are rounded and the hinge to open and the bar on the top is silver-plated; as original. Silver Crest was a very fine manufacturer of metals at the time.
