An atmospheric early 20th-century Scottish oil landscape, circa 1900–1920, by **George Houston RSA RSW (1869–1947) depicting Evening, Glen Sannox on the Isle of Arran.

Deep blue-grey mountain silhouettes rise dramatically behind an expanse of russet and green moorland, while the horizon glows beneath a golden evening sky.

A winding track and delicate plume of smoke introduce subtle narrative details into the otherwise tranquil landscape.

Signed GEORGE HOUSTON lower right.

Presented in a traditional gilt frame whose warm tones complement the evening palette of the painting.

The reverse retains an Ian MacNicol Fine Art Dealer label recording both the historic title and artist.
