Very interesting and unusual anthropomorphic stoneware vase which resembles works by the French pottery artist Jacques Pouchain. He made various anthropomorphic vases looking like human shapes. A very poetic piece of artisanal pottery art with beautiful details like the little nose, arms and the ''naive'' sculpted hands. The stoneware material has a very nice tactile appearance and is rough and brutalist in style. Although this vase is not signed, it strongly resembles works by Pouchain. It could well be made by someone in his surroundings, for example another pottery artist in the French artisanal pottery villages Dieulefit or Le Poët-Laval. It has the same strong presence and poetic qualities as his works. In great vintage condition. See less
