Yazd is a provincial capital right in the middle of Iran, used as a caravan route to the East of Iran’s salt desert it produces some lovely carpets. Many of these rugs are very similar to Kerman however although their knot-count is generally lower they tend to be better quality than new Kermans. That is, like-for-like, age-for-age the Yazd rugs of present would be of a higher quality than those made Kerman.
