Beautiiful classic dark Elmwood high Yoke back dining chairs, more commonly recognized as Official's Hat Chairs. They are styled with an iconic top rail shaped similar to the hats of high-ranking officials during the Ming dynasty.
Dark stained with exceptional patina. Raffia fabric has been added as insets to the seat area which is not original to the chairs.
One chair has white paint scuffs at the back of yoke area (shown in photo) which could easily be removed. One chair has a crescent shaped stain which appears to be a water mark on the wood rail section of seat (photo shown) toward right front side.
