An original watercolor/gouache painting on paper by an unknown British artist, mid 20th century, "Vase of Summer Flowers, Aug. '44", 14" x 11", scene of colorful summer flowers in a black bowl within a painted blue border, there was an unreadable signature and date on the old backing board (see photos), dated (19)44, CA number 3915, CA purchased at a British auction early summer 2023, the colors are strong, the background showing some ageing as expected.
The painting has been cleaned, matted in Antique White Museum matboard, lined, Conservation Clear Glass, museum backing and framed with International 5/8" antiqued gold over red moulding.
