A lovely English oak joint stool with hand-carved motifs, 2 scalloped edges, and turned legs. Created in England in the 19th century, this oak joint stool features a rectangular top sitting above a hand-carved apron. The ensemble is resting on four well turned legs connected to one another through plain side stretchers. With its dark patina and lovely decor, this stool will bring a touch of authenticity to any space. Stools were the common seating for everyday people as arm chairs were reserved for the more wealthy. Joint stools were also used as a hiring technique for future craftsmen and often was the first project offered to prove your technique. Cleaned and polished with French paste wax this stool is ready for your immediate use. Be sure to view the detailed images for a closer look.
