This is a vintage 1970s or earlier Mola textile art of the Kuna people of Panama/Columbia San Blas Islands. This is an exceptional example of the highest quality with intense details, tight stitching and multiple colors.
The piece seems to depict Toucans in Trees. The piece which seems to have been stretch and mounted onto a 3 dimensional tiered hand made wood frame that has black fabric stretched across the lower tier. This allows the piece to really pop. Amazing work of tribal art.
