Vintage 1968 beeswax encaustic on copper plate titled "No. 8" by Texas artist Carl Rice Embrey (b. 1938). Wood frame painted gold.

Framed dimensions are 8.5” x 7”
Carly Rice Embrey was born in 1938 in Hamilton, Texas and received his MFA from the University of Texas in the mid 1960s. Embrey taught at the San Antonio Art Institute until the schools closure in 1993. At the start of Embrey's career he was heavily influenced by the Abstract Expressionist movement and over time gradually incorporated representation into his work and now paints realist landscapes and interiors.
