I try and buy and sell lots of different folk art as I think it is one of the more underappreciated areas of fine art. When I got the opportunity to buy the 2 joseph rinkowski paintings I am selling this week, I was very excited. Rinkowski is one of those artist's that is well collected and well known with a less than in depth biography out there. The best information I have found about him says "a well known american folk artist who lived in jamaica, queens, long island, ny. His work has been exhibited by gallery k in washington, d.C., Huntington museum of art and others, and been sold by christie's auction house.".

This is a wonderful original 3d painting done with paint and perhaps plaster. I dont know what the view is but it looks like some sort of beach or amusement park. I know he did some views of coney island but not sure this is one of those. On the back of the painting it has his information and something that I think might be the title but I cannot figure it out. Painting measures 10 x 14 inches. Signed lower left. Painting is in excellent condition. One of my favorite parts about this painting is that it is in the original frame that was created and painted by the artist. Really a complete package. Frame measures 12 1/4 x 16 1/4 inches. See less
