this is just a great original piece. I was lucky enough to buy an incredible collection of paintings by the new york artist harland page buckland. This artist is often confused with the british artist arthur herbert buckland. Having spoken with a member of harland page buckland's family, I learned that this and the others I purchased are the work of this artist. Though not a tremendous amount is known about the artist, he was based in troy new york and taught at the emma willard school. This is one is really a wonderful view of a flock of birds flying over crashing waves. A wonderful mixed media of pastel and watercolor on paper measuring 10 x 30 inches. Signed lower right corner. Painting is in excellent as painted condition. There are 2 faint vertical lines from an earlier wooden backing. Rich in color and composition. Really just a beautiful work. Painting is in a wonderful dark oak frame. Really ready to hang. Frame measures 13 3/4 x 33 3/4 inches. See less
