Giuseppe Pitto (1857 - 1928) was an Italian painter. He was noted for his paintings depicting beautiful women in traditional Italian street markets. This beautiful example is beautifully painted and executed. The large and colorful painting, in the Realism style popular in the late 19h century, depicts a lovely and young olive-skinned and dark haired woman, She wears a white and red dress and carries a basket with vegetables.
