Signed lower right 'Fies', for Gladys Bowman Fies (American, 1909-2005) and painted circa 1960.
Gladys Fies was born in Texas and studied in California with Millard Sheets, Rex Brandt, and George Post among others. A lifetime member of the Society of Watercolor Artists, she exhibited widely and with success and was the recipient of numerous medals, prizes and juried awards.
