Saint Vincent Ferrer was a Spanish-born Dominican priest born in 1350.
He grew up in a context of political and religious crises: the Hundred Years' War, the Great Western Schism, growing hostility to religious minorities in Spain, the change of dynasty in the Crown of Aragon, but like all Dominicans, his main vocation remained preaching, which led him to travel in Spain, Italy, Scotland and even France, where he ended his life in 1419.
He was canonized by Pope Calixtus III in 1455.
