Pair of Herman Miller Eames swivel base office chairs. The chairs are in black fabric and are dated 1983. Labels and marks are present on the underside of both chairs. These chairs were popular in offices and tech headquarters across the world in the 1980s, with IBM being a well-known user of them. We have had them in our recording studio and they have been great tools!
The chairs are in very good vintage condition. They swivel smoothly and sit flat on the ground. The bases do have scuffs and metal dulling. They would polish up nicely if so inclined but look good as-is. The fabric has some fading with one being slightly darker than the other. One chair has no fabric blemishes, the other has a small shallow hole on the fabric seat base, hard to see (last image). The fiberglass shells are in great condition with typical minor marks.
