Antique cut crystal from American Brilliant period Comport or Tazza with Ripple Rim.
Early 1900’s
8” high x 5”wide bowl
American Brilliant Period ranged approximately from 1876 to WW1. Hand blown into iron molds ‘a blank’ and then hand cut by artisans over numerous labor intensive hours.
This period of glass cutting is known as the finest in the world. This piece is from later in the Periid known as the Flower period when tastes started to change toward nature snd organic design.
Ripple rim star shaped floral with flash miters and leaves. The stem is paneled with punty cuts on the miters and a start cut foot.
Perfect to serve a variety of jam for high tea, relishes, mints, nuts. Great for bridal and baby showers, wedding, anniversary, daily evening table.
