Or, by your interpretation…?? If my interpretation is correct, and it was created in 1980, it’s possible it was influenced by Brutalist styling. Or not! Insofar as I look at the way the artist has dealt with his subject’s hair, I think: “Hmmm…reminds me of the no-nonsense architecture of the 70s and 80s. You might have different ideas. Honoring the idea that “there’s nothing new under the sun,” perhaps it’s older…

One thing’s for sure -- it’s a compelling work.

Solid bronze, with a good verdigris patina in excellent condition (some very small disruptions to the patina on the subject’s left hip.

A piece of wire stretched across the two anchoring devices on the back allows it to be hung on the wall. It weighs around 9 pounds.
