Purchased in England in 1928 and travelled with one family bck to the United States. The cabinet is in beautiful condition for its age of almost 100 years. The satinwood is inlaid with walnut and hand painted with flowered garlands. Five dove tailed wood drawers which pull out easily, one is for silver. the side drawers fan out, instead of pulling straight out. There are ormolu bronze style mountings. The bottom brace or stretcher has a heavily carved wood urn The cabinet was called a server in its day. This was purchased with a matching dining table and six chairs, a china cabinet, and a demilune server. The carved wood fretwork at the bottom can be removed if the buyer would like a simpler look. The pieces were all meticulously made with every attention to detail.
