Areas of paint loss were meticulously removed, followed by a protective finish to prevent further deterioration. Crafted from solid poplar, the chest features a rich red patina, hand-painted floral motifs on the front, and carved Chinese characters and flowers on its sides. Distinctive circular metal hardware and hinges open to reveal two shelves and drawers behind the double doors, highlighting both its aesthetic and functional qualities.
