Created in Japan during the Taisho period in the early years of the 20th century, this two part Mizuya Dansu kitchen cabinet features a rectangular top sitting above a carefully designed façade, typical of the Japanese mastery of cabinetry. Presenting a two-toned structure, the façade is made of an arrangement of sliding doors and drawers, all fitted with brass hardware. The sides are made of recessed panels adorned with a red lacquer while the back is, of course, more distressed. The ensemble is raised on a simple plinth. With its clean lines, good proportions and two toned patina, this Japanese Taisho period Mizuya compound cabinet from the early 20th century will make for a great choice to decorate any kitchen!
