An excellent quality Minton majolica ‘Daisy and Trellis’ Jardinière on stand, England, circa 1875.
A scarce set, the jardinière is designed with a climbing trellis against a maroon pocked ground. A band of large acanthus leaves ring the base, the top edge shows a repeated daisy and pink ribbon running pattern. The petal edged underplate shows a trellis radiating from a central stylized daisy. The border again shows the repeated daisy and pink ribbon design. Both the interior of the pot and verso of the stand are glazed in a beautiful jade green.
So rare to find both the pot and stand in excellent condition.
Both pieces are marked as shown, Minton 875 A
Jardinière – 8.25″Dia. x 7″H Underplate – 8.75″ Dia. x .75″
Light glaze wear to the bottom rim of the pot, otherwise excellent.
